SBV Automation offers a wide range of products and services to its clients, all of which are backed up by solid technical support. The products and services offered include the following:

1) PLC and PC-based Control Systems

SBV Automation offers the client the option of either a PLC or PC-based system to control a simple machine, a jig or an entire production line or plant.

Certain clients have very detailed specifications when it comes to control systems and automation equipment and SBV Automation has not restricted itself to one make or type of control system, but rather utilizes a wide range of PLC's, PC-based control systems and field bus protocols.

PLC's covered include Siemens S5 and S7, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Telemechanique, Square D, Modicon, and Omron. PC-based systems include Pheonix Interbus-S host controllers and PC-mounted peripheral I/O cards like the Advantech range of I/O cards.

In applications where the I/O is distributed over a wide area, controllers are linked to the field I/O via cost-effective field bus options which include Pheonix InterBus-S, Siemens ProfiBus, BitBus, Dupline and Modbus. Alternatively, PLC networking can be implemented using proprietary networking protocols or Ethernet connection.

2) Man-Machine Interfacing and Monitoring Systems

Certain applications require that sophisticated man-machine interfacing, monitoring systems, data logging or data analysis are integrated into existing or new installations.

In simple control systems with low I/O counts operator interfacing and fault monitoring can be achieved using proprietary message display units or operator panels that interface directly with the PLC or controller.

The more complex systems, however, require use of PC-based Supervisory, Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. SBV Automation has concentrated mainly on the use of Wonderware's InTouch SCADA package and PC Soft International's WizCon package, but is not limited to using only these products.

 

The above systems can also be extended to include the following:

Software engineering and supply of Statistical Processing and Control (SPC) systems.

Development of Batch and Recipe Management systems.

Integration of Production Data Monitoring (PDM) and Stop Reason Monitoring systems into the production environment.

Integration and interfacing to serial and parallel devices such as bar-code scanners, printers, embossing and VIN marking machines, LCD displays etc.

Interfacing to SQL-compliant databases.

3) CAD design and draughting of control panels and electrical circuits.
